It’s a little too good to be true, but you can get paid for injuries that you sustained in your workplace or in other places that was caused by the venue’s negligence. For example, I slip and fall on the grocery store because there was an oil spill and there were two other conditions: first, there was no action to clean up the spill and second, there was NO WET FLOOR SIGN or any other sign for that matter. I sprained my left arm and I talked to the manager of the grocery store for compensation. I didn’t have to bring up the fact that I was a lawyer.

Upon investigation, it turned out that the spill was caused 45 minutes before and there were already two personnel who went past the spill but did nothing. The grocery store compensated for my injuries and gave me a shopping certificate worth a lot of money so they can keep me as their customer.
If it were any other circumstance, I wouldn’t have any right to ask for compensation if the accident was caused by my negligence. If I intentionally walked over the spill to get something out of the company, I wouldn’t be able to avail of any benefits.
